Tortoise Conservation Festival

Kotroky-O-Rama, held in 2011, highlighted the importance of the radiated tortoise. The event was attended by communtiy members, local teachers, government officials, and village elders which all enthuiastically participated in the events and are now committed to protecting the species in the Itampolo and Lavavolo region.

Over 700 students participated in conservation games and songs to instill pride in the tortoise.

Teachers participated in workshops that trained teachers to use Conservatin Fusion materials including books, maps, art supplies, posters, decorations, etc to be utilized in the festival.

Fingers puppets and hand puppets were painted that depicted the tortoise.

The events culminated in a parade festival to honor the tortoise.
