GARDENSINSCHOOLS
Food insecurity is a major challenge for people in rural Madagascar as more than 95% of the population are subsistence farmers who cannot produce enough crops in a season to sustain their households. Food insecurity is also a key driver to environmental destruction. Our team at CF addresses these challenges by empowering local people to take action through gardening. Each of the gardens provides crops which are used to feed students, and also sold for profit to purchase rice for school lunch programs.
